1. Time management and stop the procrastination. Just do it, it has to be done, so do it.
2. FOCUS on PHOTOGRAPHY (hoping to get this started this year) practice, practice, practice! New lens this Christmas and a newborn shoot, on the way with about 6,112,323 things left to do before that boat sails. Sometimes I'm not always sure what God's dreams are of me, but I think he wants me to follow this, he put up roadblocks everywhere when it came to trying to get pics made, get pics back from other photographers, I hope to never be like some of them. Maybe they didn't listen to God, maybe they were supposed to work for the Department of Sanitation.
3. Schedules and Organization. Mainly being prepared and knowing where something is, there should be a place for everything, my motto.
4. budgets, debt free is the way to be. We owe my car and this house....a bit of credit from Christmas but nothing we can't clean the slate on.
5. wear a two piece bikini this summer (my boobs may be microscopic now after 9 months of breastfeeding and having stored milk for 5 months thereafter and my stomach look as if I had gained 55 pounds...oh wait, I did....)but the YMCA is telling my bank account its time to come in and look as if we are spending $80 a month. I can no longer use the "baby weight" excuse, that's over.
6. I don't have to say "YES" to everything. I always want to do most everything, but I also want to do a lot around my house, for Ben and for Lucas, oh and myself. I need to make us priority. I'm not the center of everyone's universe. I'm just not :)
7. Drink the coffee...and smell the roses.
BUCKET LIST (in no particular order): This year I have purchased a sewing machine, a Singer, and have come to appreciate most everything that has stitches. I have made Lucas a Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas outfit, and for Christmas for all the beloved children in our lives, I made them pajamas. I must say, they are not all perfect, but ever so cute!
BUCKET LIST: I entered a craft show in late October. Made about 8 tulle wreaths. Very time consuming, spent $75 on supplies, made $90. Not sure $20 was worth the profit, but it was an experience.
Ben and I are trying to turn over a few leaves this year (aren't we all?). Starting with our home, which is fabulous to us, but a bit, well a ton, unorganized. I wish this was a place where I did not lack, but I do. With a growing boy who is constantly changing clothing size, changing toy preferences, fast as lightning, and a walking garbage disposal, our home has def had to go through the ringer, and it shows. We are now making the best of our space and getting this place in tip top shape :) Which since I stay at home 100% of the time, and see it everyday, makes me so very happy.
I will be posting my pics up here soon, but right now, my iphoto is experiencing some technical difficulties.
If I've learned anything this year, it's the following...
1. Be strong in my marriage, it can come crashing down if not, always strive for excellence, there should be nothing less for the one you will spend the rest of your 100 years with.
2. Parenting is hard, much harder than I ever imagined, but so amazing, much more amazing than I ever imagined. times infinity.
3. Take a vacation, twice a year. One with our baby, one without. On the one without, do something crazy, something you'll never forget, like running to the beach in the drenching rain, the biggest lightning bolts and the loudest thunder while the security guard opens the hotel gate for you to do so.
4. The months go by too fast, make the most of it. You can't get it back.
Well, that's what's been going through my mind today, the first day of 2012. This shall be a good one, one that I feel I can grasp...I mean, what else can be new THIS year? ;)
