6 weeks newlywed, 9 months pregnant, and 15 1/2 months of motherhood

Well, lets see...I started with my documentation 9 months of pregnancy and seemed to fall off the face of the Earth taking care of this this little boy (who, by the way, is amazing). Lots of changes going from part-time work, to being laid off, maintaining one income, trying to get organized, focusing on being a mommy, a good wife, and and doing a few of those things that I had on my bucket list. I have a few top objectives (not resolutions, just goals) this year...Time with the Lord is not the list, well, because frankly, it's a no brainer.
1. Time management and stop the procrastination. Just do it, it has to be done, so do it.
2. FOCUS on PHOTOGRAPHY (hoping to get this started this year) practice, practice, practice! New lens this Christmas and a newborn shoot, on the way with about 6,112,323 things left to do before that boat sails. Sometimes I'm not always sure what God's dreams are of me, but I think he wants me to follow this, he put up roadblocks everywhere when it came to trying to get pics made, get pics back from other photographers, I hope to never be like some of them. Maybe they didn't listen to God, maybe they were supposed to work for the Department of Sanitation.
3. Schedules and Organization. Mainly being prepared and knowing where something is, there should be a place for everything, my motto.
4. budgets, debt free is the way to be. We owe my car and this house....a bit of credit from Christmas but nothing we can't clean the slate on.
5. wear a two piece bikini this summer (my boobs may be microscopic now after 9 months of breastfeeding and having stored milk for 5 months thereafter and my stomach look as if I had gained 55 pounds...oh wait, I did....)but the YMCA is telling my bank account its time to come in and look as if we are spending $80 a month. I can no longer use the "baby weight" excuse, that's over.
6. I don't have to say "YES" to everything. I always want to do most everything, but I also want to do a lot around my house, for Ben and for Lucas, oh and myself. I need to make us priority. I'm not the center of everyone's universe. I'm just not :)
7. Drink the coffee...and smell the roses.

BUCKET LIST (in no particular order): This year I have purchased a sewing machine, a Singer, and have come to appreciate most everything that has stitches. I have made Lucas a Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas outfit, and for Christmas for all the beloved children in our lives, I made them pajamas. I must say, they are not all perfect, but ever so cute!
BUCKET LIST: I entered a craft show in late October. Made about 8 tulle wreaths. Very time consuming, spent $75 on supplies, made $90. Not sure $20 was worth the profit, but it was an experience.

Ben and I are trying to turn over a few leaves this year (aren't we all?). Starting with our home, which is fabulous to us, but a bit, well a ton, unorganized. I wish this was a place where I did not lack, but I do. With a growing boy who is constantly changing clothing size, changing toy preferences, fast as lightning, and a walking garbage disposal, our home has def had to go through the ringer, and it shows. We are now making the best of our space and getting this place in tip top shape :) Which since I stay at home 100% of the time, and see it everyday, makes me so very happy.
I will be posting my pics up here soon, but right now, my iphoto is experiencing some technical difficulties.
If I've learned anything this year, it's the following...
1. Be strong in my marriage, it can come crashing down if not, always strive for excellence, there should be nothing less for the one you will spend the rest of your 100 years with.
2. Parenting is hard, much harder than I ever imagined, but so amazing, much more amazing than I ever imagined. times infinity.
3. Take a vacation, twice a year. One with our baby, one without. On the one without, do something crazy, something you'll never forget, like running to the beach in the drenching rain, the biggest lightning bolts and the loudest thunder while the security guard opens the hotel gate for you to do so.
4. The months go by too fast, make the most of it. You can't get it back.

Well, that's what's been going through my mind today, the first day of 2012. This shall be a good one, one that I feel I can grasp...I mean, what else can be new THIS year? ;)

OVER A YEAR LATER......

I don't even know where to start actually...
Honestly, I've been sitting here blank, when my life has so much to talk to type about...

I really wished that I had been keeping up with my life this past year, but it's sorta been a world wind, literally. I will be documenting memories of this past year of my new life as well as documenting my current new life. Hope this makes sense...But I really need this "journal" for me, for my family, and for my future. I realize how important this is for me. If not for anyone else, me.

So I'll be 35 weeks tomorrow and I'm starting to feel the burn-feet have really begun to swell this past week more than normally and they won't go down at all like they used to. I'm wearing yellowbox flip flops and balerina slippers to work right now-ha! I think I've gained about 45-50 pounds now, so I can see why!
I had a pregnancy massage yeterday to loosen up some the muscles in my back and legs but it only helped for a few hours. Lucas has been sitting on my sciatic nerve since Monday and he just released yesterday so I'm pretty excited about that. Bruce is absolutely hilariuos now-he has picked up my bathroom breaks in the middle of the night and gets up when I go (usually 2-3 times a night) and waits by the door so he can go out too! Then he wants to share some love for about 3-4 minutes before I head off to work by sticking his head in my chest and belly while I give him some attention. It's very cute-wonder how he's gonna act when Lucas gets here! when my God-daughter, Kailyn comes to visit , he so curious and just whines becasue he doesn't understand. It'll be funny to see a baby full time at home and how he reacts!
Ben and I took maternity photos on Aug 12th (26th bday). We just got the CD in the mail yesterday. It was so much fun!
I'm in the middle of baby shower fun now and have another one on Sunday-I can't belive all the love, support, and thoughtfulness we have received-It's been truly amazing! I think we are going to be all set-up when Lucas gets here-He's already spoiled!
I will have my last 2 week doc appointment this coming Monday-then it's week to week from there-That'll be interesting!
We had our hardwood floors laid this past Tuesday and we are cleaning up from that wreckage now-but WOW-did it make all the difference in the house! That carpet was ruined, and it'svery refreshing in the house now. Ben is working to complete the trim and then we'll get all the stuff we stuck into the guest room and Lucas's room and set out. Then have to focus back on Lucas's room and the guest room-Gotta hurry, time is moving fast!
P.S. Do I look fat? hahahaha!! I even have piggy fingers now-I love it though!!!! All for my Lucas!

Picture taken today at 32 weeks 2 days :) Please disregard the stretchmarks-they came univited!

how long has it been??!!!

Well, I'm at 32 weeks and it has been far too long since I last updated! And wow with the changes that have occured since then! I'm going to the doctor every 2 weeks now and they say I'm looking pretty good (if 40 extra pounds looks good!) But the baby looks good anyway! He's continuing moving around like a mad man in there and I feel every little squirm now. It seems like he likes to be sideways because there are a lot of moments when I can feel him on either side at the same time. It's quite strange but I absolutely LOVE it! I like to come home and just watch him. :)

Sleeping has become an issue. If I'm not up because it's the third bathroom break of the night, then it's becasue my hip hurts or my arm is asleep or I'm too hot. haha! It's all becoming so surreal now! Only 8 more weeks of that with increasing intensity I suppose.

Daily duties take a lot more out of me, just to stir brownie batter the other day required me sitting down. Grocery shopping is the most fun, I don't go to Wal-Mart anymore unless absolutely necessary, standing in line for 20 minutes to check is a no-go! Publix works the best for me these days. And is it me or is like 1000000 billion degrees hotter this year! I have an internal furnace I know but wow!!

Ben has done a great job on Lucas's room, He's so talented and has said he enjoys doing it for the baby-I think it made it more real to him too. We have everything in there-baby bed, changing table, chair, armoire. Ben painted some of his art above the doors and window and we're ready to fill it all in now. Speaking of which I had my first baby shower yesterday hosted by my wonderful friends Allison (cousin actually) and Maria. It was great and receiving all the fun baby items was just as excting as I thought it would be!! Lucas is going to be set when he arrives with all the love we've been getting!

Mom came to spend the day with me and we had a great time. She's so excited as well! We stopped into Kohl's for $2-$4 baby clothes! YES!!!

Go back to the doc this Friday to see what the little one is up to at the start of the 33rd week!!!
